Sisonke Surf Club

Earlier in September I had the opportunity to produce a piece for DW Africa on Sisnoke Surf Club. Sisonke surf club (NPO: 221-879 /PBO: 930066233) is a non-profit organisation, based in Durban, Ushaka beach,  founded by passionate surfers that strive to empower, motivate and enhance the surfing skills of our youth. Committed to first time surfers, by providing surfing lessons and one-on-one support as well as promote the surfers on their surfing journey.

“Sisonke means “we are together ” with the vision of a multi recital and demographically equal country that is south Africa, we came up with Sisonke Surf Club. We want to equally represent the rich heritage and diversity of south Africa in our surf club across all cultures, gender and race.”

“The club uses surfing as a tool to open the minds of youth and our mission is to offer the best possible future so as to prepare individuals for the challenges of everyday life. Sisonke develops grass root surfers into future champions, guides and mentors the surfers on their surfing journey.”

If you wish to find out more about the club or would like to support there amazing work through your financial contribution, please make sure to contact Alvin Mtatshi sisonkesurfclub@gmail.com.
